This was an awful tragedy. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Joanna Milam, Bruce Myrick, Tommy Myrick, Haley Sumrall, and Timothy Milam, all died in this wreck. The Highway Patrol stated that Joanna Milam was driving and tried to pass another car.
She hit the car she was passing and lost control. This caused her to lose control on Highway 11, just South of Moselle and hit a power pole. The police officer investigating the accident also indicated that no one was wearing their seat belts in Milam's car and they were all ejected.
My condolences to the family and friends of all involved. I have four kids and I would be completely devastated had this happened to me.
And, please remember to wear your seat belt. I don't know if it would have helped anyone given the serious damage to the car but it might have.
